Original Summary
iPhone photos have been a pain for 10 years: .heic opens on your phone but breaks everywhere else. This tool decodes HEIC right in the browser (a one-time ~1.5 MB decoder, then it is cached), so a .heic becomes a .jpg with the correct orientation and it never leaves your device. The same page does 4 directions (PNG, JPEG, WebP, HEIC), you can queue up to 500 files, and you get each result or one ZIP. The before/after size is measured from the real file, so 80% quality is a number, not a guess. From experience the most common case is screenshots: a 40-screenshot folder to WebP takes one drop, and a PNG logo with transparency gets flattened onto white when it becomes JPEG, no checkerboard. Everything runs in your browser: files never get uploaded and there is no sign-up. Try it by yourself :) https://appdoesit.com/apps/image-format-convert submitted by /u/paq85 [link] [comments]
