Original Summary
Hey, I'm building DriveQuest , a game that turns the travel you already do into a map you uncover. The world is covered in a hidden grid of hexagons about 130 m across. Every new one you pass through lifts the fog on your personal Atlas forever and earns you XP, whether you're walking to class, cycling, on the bus or in the car. It's built to be fair: an hour of driving never earns more than an hour on foot , so you don't need a car to do well. The bigger game (territory, rivals, crews) comes later. Right now I need help with the foundation: does it record every trip reliably, and can it tell walking from cycling from driving? That's what this first test is for. What you'd do It runs for about 7–14 days . Install it through TestFlight (iPhone, iOS 18 or later) and sign in with Apple or Google. Start a trip when you head out. After a few trips, if you're 18 or over, you can let Auto-Tracking start them for you. After each trip, open its receipt, tap "What was this trip?" and tick how you actually travelled. That's the most useful thing you can give me. Tell me whenever something looks wrong. Thank-you prize Everyone who keeps the app for at least 7 days and labels at least 5 trips goes into a draw for a £15 gift card . I'll pick the winner at random when the test ends and message them. Please label honestly: a wrong label hurts the test more than a missing one. What to expect It's an early build, with rough edges and a placeholder icon, and GPS uses some battery while a trip is recording. Privacy Your trips go only to my test server in London. Nobody but you and me (as the developer running the test) can see them. No ads or trackers. The exact GPS route is deleted after 30 days. You can export or delete all your data from inside the app at any time. Want in? Send me the email you'd like the TestFlight invite sent to. submitted by /u/_jaahil [link] [comments]
