Original Summary
I built this because the 'stuck at 60 Hz' problem is silent — a 144 Hz monitor can quietly run at 60 for months and you just think games feel a bit soft. It measures the effective rate your display is actually presenting right now (real-time rAF timestamps, not the driver's claimed value), and gives you the number in Hz, the frame time in ms, a pacing-jitter figure (CV%) and a confidence score — the whole run is ~8 seconds. If it reads 60 when your panel is 144 or 240, the page walks through the fix for Windows / macOS / ChromeOS step by step. Everything runs locally in the browser, nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up. From my experience the single most common finding is that the OS defaults to 60 Hz and the driver control panel never gets opened :) Try it by yourself: https://appdoesit.com/apps/refresh-rate-test submitted by /u/paq85 [link] [comments]
