Original Summary

I’ve recently launched a project called Splivex.com , and I’d love to get some honest feedback from people here. The main idea is to make debating more personal. When you join a discussion, you first answer a few questions about a topic and your opinion. You’re then matched with someone who has a different opinion. From there, you have a face-to-face video call and debate the topic. The goal is simple: try to change the other person’s mind. The topics can be about pretty much anything — technology, politics, society, everyday life, food, etc. You explain your position, listen to the other side and try to convince the other person to see things from your perspective. There is also a text chat option , but the main focus is definitely the video discussions. The reason I wanted to build it around face-to-face conversations is that I feel like people behave very differently online when they can hide behind a username. It’s easy to say whatever you want in a comment. Actually having to talk to another person and defend your opinion is a completely different experience. The website is already live, but it’s still very new and there aren’t many users yet. That also means I can still make changes fairly easily based on feedback. So I’d really appreciate some honest opinions: Would you personally use something like this? Does the concept make sense? Would you find the face-to-face aspect interesting? What would make you want to come back? Is there anything you think is missing or should be changed? I’m mainly posting this to get feedback and see what people think. If there are things that could genuinely make the platform better, I’d like to know while it’s still early enough to change them. submitted by /u/Fantastic_Memory_523 [link] [comments]
