Original Summary

A few months ago we launched BachGround, a tool that watches your video and generates an original soundtrack around its scenes, pacing and mood. The first version was pretty simple: Upload a video → generate music → download the result. It worked, but after using it ourselves for a while, we realized that wasn't really how people work with music in video. You almost never want to just press "generate" once and accept whatever comes back. So for Video Composer 0.2 , we rebuilt a pretty large part of BachGround around an actual editing workflow. You can now: generate a soundtrack from your video edit the generated music on a multitrack timeline generate completely new takes without replacing the original select a specific part of the timeline and regenerate only that section generate natural endings for music import your own audio split, move, copy, paste and delete clips adjust fades and gain mute/solo tracks automatically duck the soundtrack around the video's original audio manually adjust the ducking level depending on how much of the original audio you want to preserve export the final mix as audio or as the original video with the new soundtrack The video itself is still the starting point. BachGround analyzes the edit, scenes, pacing and mood first, then uses that context when deciding what music should happen and where. The goal isn't to build another text-to-music generator. We're trying to build something closer to an AI composer that actually works alongside the video editor . 0.2 is still early and there are definitely rough edges.
