Original Summary
for context i run fanwake which is an ai chat tool for creators. its at €3k mrr now and up 33% in the last 4 weeks and i haven't spent a single euro on ads. wanted to be open about what actually got it here because honestly none of it is secret first the offer. people need to see the value themselves before they pay anything. so every free account gets 100 messages a month on us. creators see the quality of the chat with their own fans and in the best cases those free messages already bring them sales. when that happens they subscribe every time. think about it this way its money you would otherwise give to meta. id rather spend it on giving real value because its the best marketing there is and it gets the people with doubts through the door and it doesn't stop at the first payment. you have to keep proving the value for every next step. once the chat brought in sales for them going from starter to pro and all the way to elite at $249 a month was just obvious to them then marketing. reddit has been my only channel from day one. no paid campaigns at all. i just write posts that actually help people in the space and only after giving REAL value i mention the tool i built and what it did. it can feel intimidating at first but you will need to test few angles and what gets the engagement naturally. there's really no shortcut here. if your marketing feels obvious or pushy people smell it straight away. it has to come naturally. ALWAYS then support and this is the one i underestimated. im doing this solo so at some point the constant live chat pings got honestly annoying. but thats where the product actually comes from. stack up the requests see what keeps coming back and build that. right now i track all of that by hand and its a mess but its still the most valuable data i have. never leave a customer alone with an issue because they wont tell you they will just churn that doesn't mean you build everything people ask for though. before you spend time on something ask does it help other users too. does it bring revenue or signups. does it move the product forward or slow it down. your time is limited. at 1k users you hear a lot good and bad. pick carefully what you build but never leave anyone unanswered get these right and growth mostly takes care of itself. still new to this and got a lot to learn, so any tips from other people running a business solo are appreciated submitted by /u/Crazy-Mountain6125 [link] [comments]
