I’m comparing admin dashboard tools for a startup project and keep getting stuck. Retool seems great if you already have a backend. Softr and Glide feel good for simpler portals/data apps. Appsmith, ToolJet, and Budibase seem better if you want more control. AppWizzy looks useful if the dashboard is part of the actual product. Bubble is more like building the whole app visually. But the hard part isn’t the first version. A basic dashboard is easy: tables, filters, edit buttons, users. Then you need roles, exports, audit logs, permissions, subscription changes, support workflows, analytics, and integrations. The quick admin panel is now business-critical. So how do you choose? Go fast now and rebuild later? Pick a more flexible tool and move slower? Match the tool to the current workflow, or the workflow you expect in 12 months?
