Original Summary
After I finished my job as a designer on Audacity 4, I dabbled around in making some web tools/WASM things, until I eventually had the thought: But what if I made a web port of Audacity? How hard could that be? Turns out: Browsers actually are reasonably capable at handling media, and the word robots are lying bastards which can be tamed somewhat by having enough tests.<p>And thus, Soundscaper exists now, featuring Audacity 4's UI, a bunch of extra features that Audacity doesn't have, and, going full circle, even desktop versions of it. And most importantly, it's owned by a non-profit, so I'll never again have to implement monetization strategies into an open source audio editor.
