Original Summary
I kept thinking about how websites are usually built as one fixed thing. If you have a waitlist, a launch, a holiday promotion, or an event, you often end up creating another page or another version of the site. Then when the moment passes, you have to go back and change everything again. So I built Pragte around the idea of website phases. You can design different versions of the same website and schedule when each one becomes active. A wedding is an easy example: Before the wedding - Countdown, RSVP, travel information, registry, etc. Wedding day - Schedule, seating assignments, directions, photo uploads, announcements. After the wedding - Thank-you page, photos, guestbook, memories. I also wanted to fix some of the things that frustrate me about visual website builders. You can design mobile separately when needed; different layout, positioning, or even different elements, instead of forcing the desktop design to simply shrink down. The published site is still a real, searchable website. It can be indexed by Google, works with Google Analytics and Search Console, and is built with performance and Lighthouse scores in mind. The editor is visual and drag-and-drop, and things like forms are built in, so you can collect RSVPs, leads, or submissions without connecting another service. I also wanted the pricing to fit the kind of websites Pragte is built for. A wedding site may only need active features for a few months, but people may still want to keep the website, memories, and custom domain online afterward. Instead of requiring an ongoing subscription just to keep a custom domain connected, Pragte uses one-time paid periods for premium features, while the custom domain can stay connected afterward. Pragte is free to build and publish with no credit card required. The video shows how the builder works. I’d especially love feedback on the phase idea. Does this solve a problem you’ve run into, or does it feel too niche? pragte.com submitted by /u/Made4uo [link] [comments]
