Original Summary
Hey all 👋 Some background: I buy a lot of specialty coffee online, and choosing a new bag always looked the same. 15 roaster tabs open, every shop describing its beans differently, no way to filter across them, and half the time the one I wanted didn't ship to my country. So I built Cuppd : https://cuppdcoffee.com What it does 26,773 coffees from 940 roasters in 51 countries , all in one searchable catalogue Filter by origin, process (washed, natural, anaerobic…), roast level, price, and where it ships Rate coffees and keep lists of what you've tried or want to try A "For You" feed that learns from your ratings A web app plus a mobile app How it works under the hood (in case you're curious) A scraping pipeline crawls roaster webshops and normalises messy product data. "Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Natural 250g – Light" turns into structured origin, process, roast and weight fields. Normalisation was honestly 80% of the work. A monthly availability check, so sold-out coffees don't clutter the results Next.js on the web, Expo/React Native for the app, Supabase for the backend, Cloudflare R2 for images Lots of unglamorous work on images: cut-out product shots get padded onto square canvases so they don't get cropped, and roaster logos get padded in their own colour so they don't end up in ugly frames Where I'd love feedback Is the search/filter experience actually useful, or overwhelming? Is there a roaster you love that's missing? Anything that feels broken or slow It's free and there are no ads. Happy to answer anything about the scraping, the data cleanup, or the stack. ☕ submitted by /u/Early-Shop6254 [link] [comments]
