Original Summary
building a saas eventually teaches you theres two totally different documentation problems. the stuff your customers need, and the stuff your own team needs customer docs are easier for us bc were already thinking about them constantly. the internal side is where we're actually struggling our support team runs workflows that touch the product, stripe, our crm, and slack, sometimes more. none of it is individually hard but its annoying to explain, and now that the team has grown we're getting slightly different versions of the same workflow depending who you ask. one person does it one way, another does it a different way, both technically work, and then someone asks which ones actually correct and nobody has a real answer so were trying to get this written down properly. problem is the person who actually knows a workflow is usually the person least excited to spend 2 hours writing it up weve tried the "record a loom while you work" approach, works sometimes but then you have a video, which is fine for training and useless when someone just needs to check one specific step fast what id actually want is something that turns the real workflow into a step by step guide with screenshots, and then lets us edit that afterward, especially since our product changes constantly and i do not want to recapture a whole 15 step process because step 4 moved submitted by /u/Intbelligent_Hpe_182 [link] [comments]
