SSH is great, but sometimes I just want to browse a server’s files, edit a config and keep a few terminals open in one workspace. So I built ShellCanvas: a desktop app that gives headless machines a graphical workspace. It runs on your computer and connects over SSH/SFTP - there’s no agent or desktop environment to install on the server. The current feature set came together in just 4 days, with GPT-6 Astra as the main coding driver. I handled the direction, design feedback, testing and decisions. Astra did most of the implementation and debugging, with other agents contributing along the way.
