Original Summary
I've just launched Bracketeer ( playbracketeer.com ), a small web app for running knockout tournaments at game nights: console games, darts, pool, table tennis, board games, whatever you're playing. How it works Enter 3 to 16 players. It does a random draw and fills uneven brackets with byes. Run it from your phone. The next match is always at the top, and winners move through the bracket automatically. Mistakes can be fixed. If a correction affects later matches, it asks before clearing them. Guests scan a QR code to follow the bracket live on their own phones, with no sign-up needed. A champion screen at the end shows the winner's road to the title. Pricing: Hosts sign in with Google, and your first tournament is free. After that it's one token per tournament: packs of 3 for €2.49, 10 for €6.99 or 25 for €14.99. Tokens never expire, and there's no subscription. Stack, for anyone curious: Next.js, Postgres on Neon, Stripe, hosted on Vercel. Live updates use polling rather than WebSockets, to keep the setup simple. I'd really value feedback, especially on the setup flow and whether the pricing feels right. What would stop you from using something like this at your next game night? submitted by /u/DevelopmentHealthy69 [link] [comments]
