Original Summary
I've been building ComicMaker (beta), and it's finally at the point where I want other people to break it. You type a story idea, pick an art style and a page count, and it: writes the script (scenes, pacing, dialogue, captions, sound effects) designs a model sheet for each character, so they look the same from panel to panel lays out real comic pages: slanted action panels, splashes, insets, widescreen draws every panel, masked to the panel's shape letters it: speech balloons with tails pointing at the speaker, captions, sound effects makes a cover with a logo, an issue box and a tagline Then you can change anything in a drag-and-drop editor, drop in your own art, and export a print-ready PDF. The part I'm proudest of: one click turns the comic into an animated movie (landscape, portrait or square) with camera moves, music and sound effects. It works out who's talking in each panel so the balloon tails stay pinned to them while the camera moves. That's what the video shows. Pricing, up front: the editor, your own images, lettering, PDF export and movies are free. The AI writing and art come out of a prepaid balance, no subscription. Unfortunately, AI usage isn't free. A 4-page comic is roughly $3 at draft quality or $7 to $8 at standard, and it shows you the price before it starts. 12 art styles: modern superhero, golden age, manga, noir, ligne claire, watercolor, all-ages cartoon, pulp horror, painted sci-fi, pop art, webtoon and gritty indie. Right now it's in beta, so DM me if you'd like a beta access code. What I'd love feedback on: Is the first-run experience clear, or did you get lost? Does the pricing feel fair? What would you actually make with it? Happy to answer anything about how it works under the hood. submitted by /u/glenrhodes [link] [comments]
