The site also says conversations disappear when you leave, so users who navigate away by accident or need more time may lose answers without warning.<p>3. SITE MENU NOT FULLY ACCESSIBLE (NEEDS CONFIRMATION) The menu opens and closes correctly by keyboard, but it is not marked as a modal and the page behind it is not hidden from screen readers. Tabbing past the last item leaves the menu. Screen reader users may end up in content that is visually unavailable.<p>4. ONGOING ANIMATION (LOW PRIORITY) A rotating image collage has a working Pause button. Decorative &quot;twinkle&quot; effects in the same section run indefinitely, and I could not confirm the Pause button stops them.<p>WHAT IS WORKING The homepage shows real accessibility effort: a working skip link, logical headings and landmarks, alt text on all images, labeled controls, adequate text contrast, visible focus indicators, an example carousel that does not auto-advance, and support for the &quot;reduce motion&quot; setting.<p>LIMITS OF THIS REVIEW I tested only the homepage. Publish an accessibility statement for America.gov, with a way to report barriers. 2. Publish its Section 508 testing results (such as an Accessibility Conformance Report), including the AI chat. 3. Test the chat with screen reader and keyboard-only users and fix what they find. 4. Fix the site menu so it works as an accessible modal dialog. 5.
