40 years in IT, family-run small company, and like a lot of you I kept bouncing between AI apps. Perplexity for research, ChatGPT for everyday stuff, Claude for careful writing, Wolfram for math, Grok for what's happening right now. Each one is good at something different, and each one wants its own subscription. So I added it up. Standard monthly plans, US prices, September 2026: - ChatGPT Plus: $20 - Claude Pro: $20 - Google AI Pro (Gemini): $19.99 - Perplexity Pro: $20 - SuperGrok: $30 - Microsoft 365 Premium (Copilot): $19.99 - Wolfram|Alpha Pro: $9.99 - ElevenLabs Starter: $6 About $146 a month. Add the specialty tools (music, video, design, budgeting) and it's closer to $230. What I actually wanted was simpler: ask a simple question, get THE best answer from whichever AI is best at that kind of question. So that's what we built. AskAIR sends each question to the AI that fits it and shows the answer right in the app. Eight of those AIs answer in-app. For specialty topics like health, wellness and budgeting, you still get an in-app answer, plus a button to open the specialist app if you want to go deeper. Unlimited questions, no ads, no "you've hit your limit, come back in 4 hours," no picking which app to open. To be fair about the tradeoff: a full subscription gives you more than answers. Long chat threads, image generation, file uploads, their newest models.
