I'm building a consumer product on top of hospital pricing data. The data is public, but across thousands of hospitals it's inconsistent enough that "available" and "usable" are very different things. I assumed the hard part would be search and UI. It's actually deciding what not to show. Right now, prices are labeled as verified, mapped, or estimated. Some data gets suppressed entirely if the source is unreliable, and I keep similar-looking price types separate rather than merging them into a cleaner but less accurate number. The tradeoff is that every quality rule lowers coverage. Abstaining looks worse on the dashboard and better in reality.
