Hi all! Like many devs today, I keep multiple browsers open: Chrome for personal, Brave for work, and Safari/Arc for testing and distinct AI sessions. The most frustrating part was clicking an authentication link or an email and having macOS open it in the wrong browser with the wrong session logged in. So I wrote a native menu bar app in Swift: DefaultBrowserChanger . What it does: - Sits quietly in your menu bar. - Lists all installed browsers with their native icons. - Switches the system-wide default browser in one click. - Automatically handles the annoying macOS "Are you sure you want to change default browser?" prompt via Accessibility APIs. Tech stack: - 100% Swift & AppKit (no heavy frameworks, starts instantly, <15MB RAM footprint). - Fully open-source on GitHub (MIT License).
