Original Summary
I used to see a new signup and think, okay, maybe this person will pay later. But after watching how differently people use a product, i think that can be a pretty weak signal. Some people sign up, try it once and disappear. Others keep using it because they like exploring new tools, but still don't see enough value to pay. So now i would pay more attention to what happens after the signup. Do they come back without being reminded? Do they actually use the part of the product that solves the problem? Do they ask for something because they need it, or just because they are curious? I would also want to talk to a few of them before changing the pricing or building another feature. The interesting part is that you can have people using the product and still not have a clear reason why they should pay for it. For me, the useful signal isn't just that someone signed up. It’s whether they would actually care if the product disappeared. For other SaaS founders, what behaviour makes you think a free user is actually close to becoming a paying customer? submitted by /u/OutrageousIdea7747 [link] [comments]
