Original Summary

​ I wanted my Mac to recognize me when I sat down in front of it, similar to how Face ID works on iPhone. After looking into it, I realized there are quite a few annoying problems to solve once you actually try building it. So I ended up making HeyMac, an open-source project for face-based Mac unlocking and app protection. Right now it can do things like face-based unlocking and locking individual apps, with the processing happening locally. It's definitely not something I'd call finished. I'm mostly interested in seeing what other developers think about the approach and what security issues I've probably overlooked.
