Hey r/SideProject — long-time lurker, first-time poster. I got a pair of Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses last year and noticed something: every dating app is phone-only. Nobody was building for the face. So I spent the last several months building Spark — a dating web app designed to work on the glasses through the Meta AI app. How it works: you connect Spark as a web app in the Meta AI app (no App Store download). Then you can sign in with a code, browse profiles, chat by voice or wristband gesture, and have profiles and messages read aloud — all without touching your phone. A few things I'm proud of: • Date safety is free for everyone — date check-ins ("I'm safe" / "I need help" with live location to a friend), SOS alerts, share-your-plan. Enforced server-side, not just in the app. • Live group chat rooms (we call it the Lava Lounge) — 8 themed rooms plus event pop-ups, so you can meet people before matching. • Translation built in — text and voice notes translated in your preferred language. • Every photo is auto-screened before it goes live, plus selfie verification.
