I own a decent amount of clothes and wear maybe three outfits on rotation. Every morning I'd stand in front of the closet, fail to picture how anything went together, and fall back on the same jeans and sweater. Actually trying things on takes 20 minutes I don't have at 8am, so the stuff I liked buying just sat there. So I built Lapel: Virtual Try-on. You take one full-body photo, and that becomes your fitting room. Then you add garments either by photographing what you own or by pasting a link from any shop's product page, and it puts them on your photo in seconds. Everything you add gets labelled automatically (category, colour, fabric, fit), and you can ask for a look in plain words like "something for a warm evening out" and it builds it from clothes you actually own. The deliberate choice was using your real photo instead of a generated avatar or a stock body double, so what you see is your own body and proportions. Harder technically, but a try-on on someone else's body tells you nothing. What I'd like feedback on: Photographing your whole closet is real work. It's a few taps per item, but I doubt people get past the first ten pieces. Ideas for making that less painful would help a lot. Does one full-body photo get close enough to trust the result, or does it hit the uncanny valley? Free tier is 3 try-ons a month.
