Original Summary

side project i've been building in the evenings: a college football prediction model with a free site. every FBS team gets a predictive rating (estimated chance of beating an average team on a neutral field), then it simulates the season 10,000 times through conference title games and a model of the selection committee to get playoff odds for every team. it's hand-rolled vanilla JS, one static HTML file with the data baked in, refreshed weekly after saturday's games. no frameworks, no backend, no account, no paywall. the most fun part was building the committee model, basically trying to reverse-engineer how humans vote from historical selections. (it had ole miss/florida as a 53/47 toss-up yesterday and florida won 52-28, so the math is allowed to be wrong. it says what it says.) would love feedback on the site itself, especially the games page. submitted by /u/basedonactualmath [link] [comments]
