If you publicly accuse a business, then block its founder from replying, how is that accountability?

Original Summary
Founders should be called out for fake testimonials, misleading comparisons, and exaggerated claims. No disagreement there. But what happens when someone publicly attacks a product, receives a factual clarification, posts more accusations, and then apparently blocks the founder? Their comments stay visible to potential customers. The founder can’t respond directly. Readers see what looks like an unanswered criticism, without knowing why it’s unanswered. This just happened on a post about my email service. A commenter criticized the lack of MFA. I explained that account-level 2FA already existed and that the update added individual mailbox-level 2FA. Their next comment told people not to trust the service, called our security “amateur hour,” and raised additional claims (imo even kind of bit racist based on my country). Now their comments are visible when I’m logged out but inaccessible from my account. Honestly I'm aware that nobody owes me an endless debate. People have every right to block someone. But that doesn’t make the resulting public record fair or complete. As users most of the time we demand that founders back up their claims. Shouldn’t people making public accusations meet the same standard ? Or at least leave room for a correction ? submitted by /u/Taniai_ [link] [comments]
