Original Summary
I just shipped my first real SaaS. Before landing on it, I killed 4 other ideas (a resume tool, an interview prep app, and a couple others). What I built: UGC Deal Decoder. UGC creators paste a brand offer and get a Take It / Negotiate / Walk Away verdict, red-flag detection (perpetual usage, raw footage, etc.), a market-rate estimate, and a counter script. Why: I kept seeing creators on Reddit getting offered things like $400 for 30 videos, or $100 for perpetual usage rights, with no idea it was a lowball. What I've learned so far: Pick a pain people already complain about publicly. I found my users by searching Reddit for "lowball" and "usage rights." Set a kill metric before launch. Mine: 60 users who actually complete a decode by end of month 2. Not signups, real usage. Otherwise I pivot. Organic content is slow at 0 followers. I posted 16 times on IG and got almost nothing. Direct outreach is getting me real conversations. Forking a starter template (Next.js SaaS starter) saved me weeks. Stack: Next.js, Supabase, OpenAI, Vercel. Stripe is wired but off until people actually use it. Would love feedback from people who've been here: - Is my kill metric too strict or too loose? - What's the fastest way you've gotten your first 100 users in a niche?
