Please note, this is my second time posting this. The first time it was caught by a Reddit filter. This time I will put the link in the comments. I’ve been collecting physical media for years, and I kept running into the same problem: Is the 4K version actually better than the Blu-ray I already own? Sometimes the answer is obvious. Sometimes the 4K release has better HDR, grain and audio. Sometimes the Blu-ray is perfectly good. And sometimes… the Blu-ray actually looks better. So I built 4K or Not — a site where people who have actually compared the two releases can vote: Definitely Upgrade / Upgrade / Only on Sale / Skip It / Avoid Voters can also tell people why you voted that way — HDR, Dolby Vision, film grain, audio, restoration, DNR, color grading, compression, etc. There’s a growing database of 4K and Blu-ray releases, and I’m hoping to build the voting data into something useful for collectors.
