This potential storm may also bring heavy rain to places, especially in the west, whilst some places further east could stay dry. Getty Images / It will be a day of warm sunshine for many on Saturday with rain for some on Sunday After some unseasonable warmth over the past week, especially in the south, a weak weather front ushered in cooler air to Scotland and Northern Ireland on Friday, whilst warm and humid air stayed put in southern England and south Wales. Into the weekend it does look as though most places will return to more typically late September conditions, with UK temperatures ranging between roughly 15 to 21C north to south.. Temperatures will again be close to the seasonal average through the weekend and it should feel pleasantly warm in the sunny spells. Saturday will bring the chance of further showers to many western areas, while on Sunday spells of rain will sweep most areas at some point. As we head into next week and the final days of September there are currently no signs of any significant bouts of unseasonable warmth. Some pleasantly warm and sunny days are still possible during the first half of the week, but forecasts show a very changeable pattern overall. As well as occasional rain for most, northern and western areas could see much windier conditions at times. How much rain is on the way? Expected rainfall over the next five days will be focused on northern and western parts of the UK. Some places in central and eastern England may stay completely dry September rainfall so far has been very mixed across the UK. In parts of north-west Scotland, there has already been 146% of expected September rainfall. At Achnagart in Highland, it has rained for the past 27 days. In contrast, it has been very dry in parts of eastern England, with Bridlington in East Yorkshire seeing just 11% of expected September rainfall. Low pressure systems will bring some rain over the next week or so. However, the bulk of the rain will fall in Scotland, Northern Ireland and western parts of England and Wales, with no significant or useful forecast further south and east.
