I finally shipped my first app. 🎉 It’s called Mindkeep: Expiry Reminders . The idea came from a ridiculously simple problem: passports, insurance documents, warranties, return deadlines, subscriptions and other things have important dates buried in them — and somehow we remember them when we actually need them. I wanted something where I could photograph an item/document and basically say: “Make sure I don’t forget this.” Mindkeep lets you take a photo, choose an existing photo/screenshot, or enter something manually. It detects possible dates, you choose the one that matters, and it schedules reminders before that date. Privacy was also important to me. Text recognition happens on-device . There’s no account, no ads, no tracking, and your documents aren’t uploaded to my server. The free version allows up to 10 saved items. Premium simply removes that limit. I’m a physician/radiology resident rather than a professional software developer, so going from an idea → building it → dealing with App Store Review → finally seeing my own name in the App Store has been quite an experience.
