Original Summary
My everyday work produces tons of documents which are pretty much disjoint, and yet, they rely on each other for context. They range from the architectural diagrams that I generate with ChatGPT, or the Markdown docs written up with AI assistance, even the local test actual codebase, dataset samples dropped by a pipeline (Parquet), a feature store (SQLite), notebooks, logs that run into gigabytes. It is quite a pain to have different tools just to even look at them, and keeping them all open and cross-referenced while I work is its own tax. I'd have a diagram in one app, docs in a browser tab, code in the editor, and a Python shell open just to peek at the DB, switching between all four constantly. I built Sarvak . It is a native desktop app (Windows/macOS/Linux) that opens all of it in one place: Markdown/docs, images (so the AI-generated diagrams just open), PDF, Jupyter notebooks (no kernel needed), SQLite (read-only SQL box, so I can check the sample DB without a shell), Parquet, CSV/JSON/YAML/LaTeX, and 50+ code languages, with tabs and split view so I can actually keep the code, the DB, and the docs open side by side instead of alt-tabbing between apps. Streamed viewing handles the huge training logs too (severity-colored, so I'm not grepping a multi-GB file by hand). Everything's read straight off disk, nothing uploaded, no account. Under 5MB, opens in under a second. I wanted to keep it as small as possible so that if required, I can have a lot of Sarvak sessions up and running without putting a huge load on my already tired machine. The other thing that came out of building it: As I used Claude Code for a chunk of my dev work, I just had to track what the Claude was doing and was I missing out on something! So, now Sarvak attaches itself to a live Claude Code session and shows a live diff of what changed, folded down so a one-line change in a huge file doesn't bury me in scroll. Where I still don't have a good answer: I run several parallel AI sessions at once and genuinely can't track all of them together yet — Attach today is one session at a time. That's the next thing I want to build, not something I've solved. I am curious if the diagram/docs/code/db juggling is a shared problem or just my own workflow being weird. https://sarvak.dev if you want to poke at it. submitted by /u/bharat_builder [link] [comments]
