Original Summary
I lift, and the part of autoregulation I never trusted was my own RIR guess at the end of a hard set. So I've been building RIRVana, an Android app that watches the set from a side-on phone camera. What it does right now: live HUD during the set with a measured rep count estimated RIR shown as a range with a confidence level (for example: RIR 2, range 1 to 3, medium confidence). It is never presented as a measurement. the next working set adjusts based on how much you actually slowed down if the camera loses the bar on a rep, it says so, counts the rep, and leaves it out of the estimate Program and Session logging Training Restrictions, so you can keep specific movements or patterns out of your programming (it's a programming filter, not medical advice) It's in a Google Play closed test right now. Free, invite-only, and pricing is a later decision. More at https://RIRVana.pro if you want to get on the list. What I'd like feedback on: Is a range plus a confidence level more useful to you than a single RIR number, or does it just read as hedging? Would you actually prop a phone side-on for working sets, or is that a dealbreaker? What would you want explained about why the next set changed? Happy to answer questions about how it works, including where it gets things wrong. submitted by /u/drod2169 [link] [comments]
