Every evening I read my daughter a bedtime story, and I wanted classic fairy tales I could always have on hand, ones that read naturally and suit even the littlest children. So I built Talerie ( talerie.com ), a quiet reading site for classic fairy tales: Grimm, Andersen, Perrault, Aesop, and some local legends from Poland, Brazil and Mexico in their own languages. A 40-second walkthrough, on a phone in dark mode What's on the site now: a bit over 100 tales, each in up to seven languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Polish) every tale says how long it takes to read and what age it suits, and some have a second, closer-to-the-original version as well as the gentler one illustrations and printable coloring pages no ads, no account needed. The texts are CC0, so teachers can copy them freely Two things I didn't expect: Until the end of August, Google Images sent more people than regular search, mostly to the coloring pages. Then regular search overtook it within two weeks. ChatGPT is now our second-largest referrer after Google, ahead of Bing. All I did for AI search was publish plain-text copies of the tales (an llms.txt and Markdown versions). What I'd love feedback on: If you read to your kids at night, does the reading page work on a phone in a dark room? The parenting subs here don't allow links, which is fair.
