Original Summary
Hi! Like many people out there, I'm asking myself THE question: how do I get people to know about my SaaS and actually use it? I'm reading some founders’ journeys, looking at successful launches, and what I keep seeing is that a good launch requires an initial audience. In the picture attached, you can see mine (top) and Zeno Rocha’s (bottom). Zeno Rocha is one of the founders of Resend dot com, and their way of building their SaaS is one of those engineering-first approaches where they didn’t hide how they built it (their blog is a great read by the way!). One interesting thing about Resend is how they reached 6000+ interested people in 7 weeks, and one of the reasons was Mr. Rocha’s X account and his ~40K followers. There’s more to it than just that, but I believe it’s an important part of user acquisition, allowing for a stronger kick-start when launching your project. That’s why some influencers can launch new projects easily or get paid to promote one. I’m not saying that without this initial audience your project is doomed, but I’m wondering whether not having built a social presence and an audience over the past 10 years might end up being a long-term mistake. I’m not fond of social networks, I don’t think people really need my opinion on anything or would be interested in what I’m doing in everyday life. It started to make more sense once I began building my SaaS, but it still feels unnatural. Since I see lots of people asking about that kickstart audience: where are you in terms of social networking? Do you already have an initial audience, or are you, like me, sitting at 3 followers (two of which are bots)? 😆 submitted by /u/FeatCtrl [link] [comments]
