I've built a lightweight native screen recording app for macOS with built-in editor and MCP, captions, teleprompter and a lot of editing including auto-zooms, different camera shapes and background blur. All tracks are editable on their own. I did it out of frustration in tools I could find, tried and bought. They were bulky, some popular were made using Electron -- the app was huge, the projects were huge, they contained a lot of extra stuff and were slow, yet didn't have what I wanted in them. The problem is, while I was making mine, a lot of other tools started to pop up in search. But I believe this one is better than competitors and has future. The question is, should I make it free with watermarks or keep like it is: 3 free no watermark recordings, then 1 time payment for lifetime support? I just don't think watermarked videos are usable and thought it doesn't make much sense. But this model has been out there for a long time and allows apps to be treated as free tools, so maybe it's a good choice.
