Original Summary

Every budgeting app I tried solved the wrong problem for me. They connected to my bank, imported everything, categorised it, and at the end of the month handed me a chart. I still had no idea where the money went, because I had never been there when it left. So I built INOUT around the opposite decision: you add every transaction yourself, by hand, and it will never connect to a bank. That is the product, not a missing feature. The reason is narrow. A card tap takes one second and your brain does not register it as money leaving. Typing it in afterwards takes five seconds and it does. Everything after that moment, recurring bills posting themselves, upcoming charges held back out of the budget, one loan entry staying consistent across your debt and your net worth the app handles. What it does today: multi-currency accounts where each currency is a real balance, loans with principal and interest on one entry, a calendar of everything due, budgets, savings goals, CSV export. What it does not do, so nobody wastes their time: no bank sync, no importing your history, no iPhone or Android app, it installs to your home screen from the browser. Free to use, no card, no trial timer. I am not going to pretend this is for everyone. Roughly half the people who try manual tracking hate it. If you want something that records your spending for you, this is the wrong app and I would rather say so here than have you find out in ten minutes. useinout.com What I would actually like from this sub is the positioning, not the product: is "never syncs with your bank" a reason to try it, or a reason to close the tab? submitted by /u/PriorAcanthisitta167 [link] [comments]
