Original Summary
i've always had this problem where there are things i genuinely want to do, but somehow keep skipping them. gym is probably the biggest example. so i started thinking: what if you had actual money on the line? the idea: you connect your Apple Watch / Apple Health. the app automatically checks whether you actually went to the gym and how long you worked out. then you put money into a monthly commitment. say you put $300 in. if you complete your goal, you get the money back. if you skip a day, $12 gets deducted and the rest is refunded. then i thought… why stop at $300? what if this was built for people who can afford the money but hate being inconsistent? $3,000 commitment. go to the gym → get it back. skip → lose money. the goal isn't to earn from people skipping. it's to make skipping painful enough that you actually show up. i'm taking inspiration from those apps that force you to get out of bed, but wanted to apply the same psychology to things people want to do but constantly procrastinate on. currently thinking about building this. what other things would you actually put money on the line for? gym? studying? running? waking up? learning a skill? submitted by /u/Sarthak999gupta [link] [comments]
