today was entirely focused on the threads section. basically the social feed where developers can share stuff. got the main discovery feed working. to keep the app fast and not burn through server costs, we set it up so it only loads 20 posts at a time. as you scroll down, it just grabs the next 20. added a search bar at the top too. you can just type to search post titles, or type @ to find specific users, or # to filter by tags. the tag system was a big part of today. there's this belt of tags at the top that scrolls automatically. getting it to loop smoothly without glitching or snapping back to the start was honestly a headache, but we finally got it looking right. you can click them to filter the feed, and you can pick up to 3 tags when you make your own post. also built the "create post" screen. you pick your tags, write a title and a body, and hit post. it's not 100% done yet. still need to fix a couple of visual bugs on the post cards and build the actual page where you click a post to read the full body and comments. but the core logic is there. anyway, day 2 in the books.   submitted by   /u/Petifys [link]   [comments]
