Every time I launch a new project, I end up burning 20-30 minutes on the same boring stuff: generating a favicon set, making an OG image for social sharing, PWA icons, and a handful of UI icons that match the site's style. I usually bounce between 2-3 different free tools, download a bunch of files, manually rename them, and paste in the HTML snippets. I'm considering building something that bundles all of this into one API/CLI call — basically "give me a logo or brand color, get back favicon.ico + all the PNG sizes + apple-touch-icon + PWA icons (192/512) + a default OG image + the manifest.json, all at once" — plus an MCP server so AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) can just call it directly when scaffolding a new project. Before I sink time into this, I wanted to ask the people who actually deal with this repeatedly: What do you currently use for this? RealFaviconGenerator, Favicon.io , something else? Do you have a workflow that already solves this well enough that a new tool wouldn't add value? Is this actually annoying enough to be worth automating, or is it a 5-minute task once per project that isn't worth a subscription? If something like this existed as an API with a generous free tier, would you actually use it — and would you pay for it if you're shipping multiple projects a month? For those using AI coding assistants — would you actually want an MCP/skill that lets the AI generate these assets automatically while scaffolding a project, or would you rather stay in control and do it manually? Genuinely trying to figure out if this is a real pain point worth solving or just something that feels annoying in the moment but isn't actually worth paying to fix.
