Original Summary

Quick update on our SaaS. When we started, we did the classic thing: build the product, launch it, and wait for people to show up. Spoiler: they didn't. A few signups on the waitlist, almost no replies to our emails, zero sales. So we went back to a beta phase before the real launch. At first our pitch was basically: "hey, want to test it for free and give us your feedback?" Spoiler again: they never gave feedback. People signed up, logged in once, and disappeared. So we changed our posture. The beta is now paid. Sounds counterintuitive, but it changes everything: - people who pay actually use the product - they take the time to tell you what's wrong - and you know they have the problem for real, not just "sounds interesting" And it worked. Our first paying customer joined during the beta. She found us through a post where I was just talking about the problem, not even pitching the product. It's not huge, but it's someone paying for something we're building with her feedback. That changes everything mentally. The problem now: we still don't have a reliable channel to find more beta testers. Right now it comes from LinkedIn and a bit of TikTok, but it's not predictable at all. What worked for you to find your first users consistently? (For those asking what the SaaS does, I'll drop it in the comments) submitted by /u/Traditional-Wheel527 [link] [comments]
