I'm the solo developer. I kept uninstalling Pomodoro apps — they all worked fine as timers, I just never opened them. Turns out I don't avoid focus sessions because timers are hard. I avoid them because staring at a countdown alone feels lonely. So I built FocusPal. You photograph anything — your cat, a plush toy, a coffee mug — the app removes the background, you pick a cozy spot for it, and it generates a frame-by-frame stop-motion loop. Your companion naps, stretches, grooms itself while the timer runs underneath. The video shows the whole thing.
