hello, wanted to share a frustation of mine and my personal solution to it. I feel like today everything is a subscription model that benefits from massive margins & the fact that you will forget to unsubscribe ... and I needed an app to record my meetings and transcribe that was accurate and that I could run cheaply -> the main versions I found in the apple app store are exactly what I wanted to avoid, and in this day an age its (almost) easier and quicker to make your own version vs. do proper DD on what app to use. So claude (and I) pushed this app: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/note-whisperer/id6771740578 The premise is simple: if you are a nerd and know how to get your own api key from openai platform, then you can plug it into the app and pay cents for what would have otherwise (likely) been $10 a month. You can pick from all the transcription models from openAI depending on the accuracy you need. It also couples with your apple watch so the recording can happen on the watch instead - a tester flagged that this is a feature that is coming now with the new apple watch (I wont update to the new watch model so will continue to use mine). I dont need to make a profit out of this app so I will not change it to a subscription model , but if people have feature requests I am happy to consider making additions.
