I kept running into the same problem building side projects: half the "free API" lists floating around are outdated, link to dead endpoints, or don't tell you upfront whether you need a key or if CORS will block you from calling it client-side. So I built GetFreeAPIs. What it does: 2,700+ APIs, filtered by whether they need a key, support CORS, and run over HTTPS Every listing gets checked automatically so dead links don't waste your time Collections for common cases (no-key-needed, browser-ready, beginner-friendly) A few small dev tools built in — CORS checker, cURL converter, JSON formatter, JWT decoder No login needed to browse, no rate limits on the site itself Built with Next.js, deployed on Vercel.
