Original Summary

I’ve been building a small tool called PDFBright around a problem I kept noticing with PDF websites. Most PDF tools start by asking you what you want to do: compress it, OCR it, rotate pages, remove blanks, etc. But sometimes you just have a messy PDF and you don’t actually know what’s wrong with it yet . So PDFBright works the other way around: You upload a PDF → it analyzes the document → tells you what it found → then lets you choose which fixes to apply. Right now it can identify things like sideways pages, inconsistent page sizes, likely blank pages, scans that may need OCR, readability issues, and oversized image-heavy PDFs. Processing currently happens locally in the browser , there’s no signup required , and the current Early Access version is free. I’ve finally reached the point where the production version is stable enough that I want people other than me testing it 😅 [ https://pdfbright.app ]() If anyone has an annoying or messy PDF lying around, I’d really appreciate feedback on three things: 1. Did it correctly identify the problem? 2. Was the diagnosis/fix flow easy to understand? 3. Is there a PDF issue you expected it to catch that it missed? I’m especially interested in finding the cases where it fails so I know what to improve next. submitted by /u/dadatunde [link] [comments]
