Original Summary
I’m working on Speaker by Anechoic, a Windows 11 microphone-processing app. The workflow I’m trying to simplify: using your own VST2/VST3 effects for voice without maintaining a virtual-cable routing setup. Speaker puts a plugin chain in the Windows shared-mode microphone effects path. You keep selecting the existing microphone in compatible apps, with per-mic chains/presets and dry/processed monitoring. This has limits: exclusive-mode/ASIO apps bypass that path, and some app or driver settings can bypass processing too. I’m not claiming universal compatibility or zero latency. It’s currently a private release candidate, so the link is a product preview, not a download or public-beta signup: https://speaker-by-anechoic.rwezzey.chatgpt.site I’d love feedback from people who already process their voice for calls, streams or games: what mic + app + plugin combination do you use, and what is the most annoying part of keeping that setup working? Would keeping the original mic selected help, or is your existing routing already painless? I’m affiliated with the project. Specific objections and existing solutions that work well for you are welcome. submitted by /u/RezzinXD [link] [comments]
