building a book tracking app, folio, small solo thing, not really pitching it here, more just want to talk about the distribution side of things cause it's been a mess. been trying to validate demand before pushing further with it, so went the organic reddit route instead of spending on ads. posted an honest thing about my own reading habit problem, no app mention at all, in a self improvement sub. did well, real comments, felt like actual signal not just vanity numbers. went back a few days later with a different angle, same sub, got removed. tried a books focused sub with similar framing, also removed. spent an hour thinking my account got flagged, checked it wasn't, account's fine, it was just the subs filtering anything close to the first post once two similar ones were live from me. kind of an expensive lesson for something that cost zero dollars, doing well once in a community seems to quietly burn you out of going back soon after, even with no product mention either time. curious how other saas builders here are actually handling organic distribution without hitting this same wall, is reddit even worth the time investment past the first post per sub or should i just be spreading thinner across more subs from day one   submitted by   /u/Wonderful-Guide-1832 [link]   [comments]
