I built Ledger Studio . - try here at Ledger studio live link One part of it is a Freelancer Baseline . You enter: Your monthly survival expenses How many hours you actually want to work each month Ledger Studio then calculates your personal minimum hourly rate. It's not trying to tell you what the "correct market rate" is. There isn't a database telling you that you should charge ₹X/hour. It's simply a personal floor. If a proposal ends up below that floor, the app can flag it. I also wanted to account for work that often gets forgotten when creating a quote. For example: Build website — 40 hours Sounds straightforward. But then there is testing, deployment, configuration, analytics, revisions, etc. So I built a Hidden Work Detector that checks the quote, scope, and terms against predefined rules and keywords for supporting work. It's worth being clear about this: It is rule-based, not AI. It can miss things. It can also flag something that isn't relevant. When it finds something, the freelancer decides what to do with it add it to the scope, keep it as an internal task, or ignore it. The actual quote calculations are deterministic too. Line items, tax, discounts, effective hourly rate, and payment milestones are calculated directly by the application. Milestones also have to add up to exactly 100%. And the whole core workflow runs locally in the browser. Quote data, freelancer settings, and projects are stored in localStorage ; there is no account or backend database required. There are obviously limitations. A personal minimum rate doesn't tell you what a client is willing to pay. Keyword-based detection won't understand every kind of hidden work. And a quote can still be a bad deal even if the numbers look good. That's why Ledger Studio also has things like proposal risk checks, scope-creep scenarios, and project tracking.But this part of the project is intentionally simple: Before sending a quote, understand what that number actually means for you.
