Original Summary

The Problem I run a small SaaS on the side. My numbers live in four places: Stripe, GoogleAnalytics, a spreadsheet, and my support inbox. Checking them means opening fourtabs and waiting for dashboards to load forty charts I don't need. So I do one of two things: check obsessively (wasted mornings), or avoid it forthree weeks (and find out about the churn spike 12 days late). Dashboards are where KPIs go to die. They're built for investor updates, not fora 10-second check on a Tuesday morning. I don't want forty charts. I want fivenumbers, and a warning when one crosses a line. What I'm building: Masthead A macOS menu-bar app. The video above shows the concept: Your headline number lives in the menu bar: MRR, churn rate, whatever matters the most, visible in every app, always current Five vital numbers in one panel: click the menu bar icon, see MRR /churn/activation/ response time (you pick the five) Alerts that find you — "⚠️Churn crossed above 3.5%" as a native macOS notification, even with the window closed One-click logging for numbers no tool tracks Local-first: no account, no cloud, no server. Your history lives on your Mac and exports to CSV/JSON anytime. Your revenue numbers never leave the machine Full transparency: the video is a motion-graphics mock up I rendered. The engine exists as a working prototype, but the native Mac app is not built yet, this post decides whether it gets built. No landing page, no waitlist, nothing to sign up for. If it resonates here, I spend the six weeks. If not, you just saved me a month of my life, and I mean that. Integrations In v1: Stripe (MRR, churn) Google Analytics 4 (traffic, signups) Google Sheets (sync any published sheet) CSV/JSON import (bring history from anywhere) Webhook API (your own scripts or cron can POST numbers) Out: macOS notifications, Slack, email digest, outbound webhook Planned later- tell me which of these you'd actually need: Billing: Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, RevenueCat, App Store Connect Analytics: Plausible, Fathom, PostHog, Mixpanel Ads: Meta Ads, Google Ads (spend + ROAS) Accounting: QuickBooks, Xero Support: Intercom, Zendesk, Crisp, Help Scout Misc: GitHub stars, Linear, Product Hunt Questions for you Would you actually use this? What would YOUR menu bar show? One-time ~$29 or subscription? I'd rather do one-time + paid major updates, but tell me why I'm wrong Which integration is the deal breaker- the one without which this is useless to you? submitted by /u/chillbillnow91 [link] [comments]
