i keep getting the same DM: someone sends me a listing, 4k MRR, runs itself, asking 120k, and wants to know if the code looks ok. here's what i've learned looking at around forty of these. if it truly runs itself, why is the owner selling a passive money machine? usually because it doesn't run itself, the revenue is fragile, or churn is quietly eating it and the multiple is fantasy. the code is almost never the real question. the durability of the revenue is. a clean codebase with melting revenue is worth far less than ugly code with sticky customers. for anyone who's bought or sold a small SaaS, what did you learn to look at before the code?   submitted by   /u/EnvironmentalDay8864 [link]   [comments]
