Original Summary
Howdy r/SideProject lol. I moved to Texas, found a place that looked fine on the listing, then the lease showed up: long, dense, very “apartment packet” energy. The monthly "on paper" wasn’t what we’d actually pay once mandatory fees piled on, and signing day hit harder than I planned (deposit, first month, all the little one-time stuff). i def ain't no lawyer, i just got tired of guessing. So I put together LeaseLens Texas. youjsut upload your lease pdf, text. md, and it adds up true monthly cost, what’s due around signing, and points at a few clauses worth reading before you sign (like pet rent, commutiy fees, valet trash fees, etc). There’s a free preview so you’re not paying blind; lowest pricing anywhere. if you want the full walkthrough and some simple drafts you can use when you push back (email-ish note, that kind of thing). It’s for Texas renters, informational only — a second pair of eyes, not legal advice. if you’ve signed a Texas lease lately, I’d love to hear what fee caught you off guard (valet trash, package locker, pet rent, “community amenity,” page 38 nonsense). Try it: https://vesperrun-leaselens-texas.streamlit.app (There’s a demo lease if you don’t want to upload anything yet.) Thanks for looking — happy to take honest feedback on whether this would’ve helped you before you signed. submitted by /u/MealNo2448 [link] [comments]
