Original Summary

Concept I've been working through: a brand ships a box of full-size products to someone before a gathering they're already having, birthday, bachelorette, just a Friday night. 6 to 15 people. Everyone tries the products, rates them on their phone, and the group sees which one won. The brand pays for the placement and the response data. The host and guests pay nothing and keep the products. Two things I can't get past: The box probably costs $60–80 shipped with products inside. For a brand to pay enough to cover that plus margin, the data has to be worth more than a normal sampling campaign. I'm not sure it is. And it depends entirely on finding people who'll host. Guests are easy. Hosts are the bottleneck and I don't know what the conversion looks like. Has anyone seen a physical sampling model survive fulfillment costs at scale? Or is this one of those things that works for 20 boxes and dies at 2,000? submitted by /u/Old_Classroom_8933 [link] [comments]
