Original Summary
The actual reason I built it: I've installed and deleted more screen-time/focus apps than I can count. They all do the same thing, see "app open," slam a wall down, guilt-trip you with a little cartoon. Zero context. Doesn't know the difference between mindless scrolling and genuinely needing five minutes to decompress. I'd disable it within a week, angrier at the app than at myself. So I built something that actually pays attention to what's going on before it does anything, not just which app is open. It watches your screen, remembers context across your devices, holds real conversation (voice or text), and if you tell it to hold a boundary lets say, "keep me off this for an hour", it actually holds it. No negotiating out of it later. It's live now, genuinely early beta, built solo. Not trying to sell anyone here, I just want honest feedback, including if the whole idea is dumb. Happy to answer anything about how it works or why I made specific decisions. aretica.com.au if you want to poke at it. submitted by /u/Slight-Commission494 [link] [comments]
